I believe effective therapy blends the warmth of a genuine, authentic relationship with the structure of evidence-based practices and measurable outcomes. My priority is to create a space where you or your loved one feel safe, comfortable, and free from judgment throughout the therapeutic process.
I primarily work with adults navigating a variety of concerns — from managing life stressors and emotional regulation challenges to addressing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and relational or family difficulties. Life’s transitions and heightened stress can make coping more difficult, and having support during these times can be transformative.
I have received extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through Marsha Linehan’s Behavioral Tech team. DBT skills — including mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness — are powerful tools that can benefit everyone.
At West Knox Behavioral Health, our team is committed to helping you strengthen these skills so you can gain greater control over your mind and body, regulate emotions more effectively, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Hi, I’m Lauren! As a compassionate therapist, I specialize in guiding individuals through pivotal life transitions – whether you’re navigating divorce, struggling with infertility, exploring personal growth, seeking to deepen relationships, or navigating life’s challenges. My approach is warm, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices and trauma informed care. I have 20 years of prior mental health experience working in adoption, foster care, embryo donation & adoption, and infertility support. I utilize a blend of connection, creativity, and intuition to help clients rebuild and thrive. I love helping people discover their inner strength, process the hard stuff, and move toward a life that feels aligned and fulfilling.
Beyond my work as a therapist, I’m a musician in a band, mom to two amazing boys, trauma-informed professional home organizer, embryo adoption expert, hiking nature explorer, and lifelong learner. This rather eclectic mix of work and life experience brings together my unique perspective to enhance my work with a wide variety of individuals. I am passionate about expressive arts therapy modalities (art, music, and movement) combined with cognitive-behavioral therapy as a tool for healing. I prefer to bring my client’s own passion and strengths into the therapy space to enrich and personalize their therapeutic experience.

Life can feel overwhelming, confusing, or just… a lot sometimes. Whether you’re dealing with a big change, everyday stress, or anything in between, I’m here to help you make sense of it. Together, we’ll navigate challenges, build coping skills, and find more balance and clarity in your life. I work with teens and adults to process relationships, transitions, and life’s ups and downs, helping you gain insight, manage stress, and feel more in control.
My approach is holistic and tailored to each client’s needs. I create a supportive environment while gently challenging you to grow. I often use techniques from DBT, CBT, ACT, and psychodynamic approaches to explore patterns, identify values, build coping skills, and foster meaningful change, showing up authentically with genuine support and honesty.
Searching for a therapist can feel intimidating, and that’s completely normal. I consider it an honor to walk alongside you in this journey, providing a safe, collaborative space to explore challenges, celebrate progress, and work toward a more fulfilling and meaningful life, whatever that looks like for you.
